Teknik Lingkungan dimaksudkan untuk membantu menghasilkan tenaga kerja yang unggul, kreatif dan produktif, mampu menerapkan ilmu pengetahuan dalam menjadi basis bagi pengebangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi demi kesejahteraan hidup masyarakat, khususnya di wilayah Sumatera.
